For more than 35 years, the partnership between Farm Credit Mid-America and FFA has been a cornerstone in cultivating the next generation of agricultural leaders. This long-standing commitment is evident across the cooperative’s service territory. Farm Credit Mid-America has committed to providing an additional $80,000 annually for the next four years to Indiana FFA, demonstrating a sustained and significant investment. Most recently, a project in Indiana exemplifies the dedication to opportunities for all: the construction of an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant cabin at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center.
Farm Credit Mid-America’s support for youth-centric agricultural programs is longstanding, with consistent contributions to FFA camp projects across their territory. This includes funding for updates to an officer dorm at the Indiana FFA Camp, a clear historical precedent for their current involvement.
Beyond these projects, the Indiana FFA Leadership Center is a crucial hub for developing leadership skills and fostering agricultural education. To enhance current infrastructure and accommodate a wider range of participants, Indiana FFA embarked on an ambitious project: building an ADA-compliant cabin. Designed to provide modern accommodation, support sustainable growth and ensure that regardless of ability, the cabin will allow participants to fully experience the invaluable leadership and educational opportunities offered at FFA camp.
With a total fundraising goal of $1.4 million, the Indiana FFA has made remarkable progress, having already secured over $1.3 million as of May 2025. Farm Credit Mid-America’s support for the remaining $60,000 underscores a deep-rooted commitment to the organization and its mission. Executive Director of Indiana FFA Foundation Lisa Chaudion said, “This cabin is more than a structure — it’s a powerful step toward accessibility, inclusivity and opportunity for all who attend the Indiana FFA Leadership Center. Thanks to the unwavering support of Farm Credit Mid-America, we are closer than ever to ensuring that every student, regardless of ability, can fully engage in the leadership experiences that define FFA.”
The cabin project is a symbol of progress and inclusivity within agricultural education. It represents not just a new building, but a commitment to ensuring that every aspiring agricultural leader has the opportunity to thrive. As Farm Credit Mid-America continues to invest in FFA and their infrastructure, alongside consistent overall program support, the cooperative is securing a brighter and more equitable future for rural communities and agriculture across the Hoosier state and beyond.
