Biographical Information

I am a lifelong farmer and co-owner of Fiechter Heritage Farms LLC, where I serve as President and accountant. My wife, Sara, and I operate the farm alongside my two brothers, my dad and my uncle. I bought my first farm at 16 with a loan — a start that set the course for a career built on reinvestment and improvement. Over the years I’ve continued acquiring land and installing systematic field tile myself to improve drainage and productivity, always striving to leave each parcel better than when I found it.

Farm Credit Mid-America has been an instrumental partner, providing the financial tools necessary to expand and position the family operation for future generations. My business experience extends beyond row crops: I was a partner in a 1,400-sow farrow-to-finish hog operation, worked as a local realtor associate and co-owned a livestock trucking business. Those ventures broadened my perspective on agriculture, logistics and rural communities.

Why do you want to serve on the Farm Credit Mid-America Board?

I want to serve on the Farm Credit Mid-America Board because Farm Credit Mid-America provides vital financial resources that help young and established farmers grow and sustain family farms. I would cherish the opportunity to be Indiana’s Farm Credit Mid-America voice, encouraging collaboration between younger and older generations to secure the future of agriculture. My hands-on farming experience, history of land investment and improvement and leadership as President and bookkeeper of Fiechter Heritage Farms LLC equip me to be an effective advocate and leader for Farm Credit Mid-Amercia. I am committed to promoting access to capital, responsible stewardship and policies that strengthen rural communities and ensure generational continuity in farming.
