Biographical Information

I am a first-generation farmer, who started farming tobacco while in high school at the age of 16. I have always loved everything about agriculture, both plants and animals, but also the people! I was the Treasurer of my high school’s FFA chapter and actively worked in tobacco for local farmers while in middle and high school. I purchased a small tractor at 16 prior to owning a truck, to say I was focused was an understatement. We have been blessed by many people who have helped with advice or with opportunities along the way. My wife, Kristin and I, met at a Farm Bureau meeting and have been married 31 years. We have three sons, Aaron 28, Nick 24, and Rudy 21.

Why do you want to serve on the Farm Credit Mid-America Board?

Farm Credit Mid-America has been a great and vital partner in my farming operation. Many people loan money, few understand what we do and want to be a part of it, I know Farm Credit Mid-America does. As our farms continue to face market volatility, it’s more important than ever for Farm Credit Mid-America to be there providing much needed capital. I believe that I have a unique set of life experiences that are beneficial to our board and association. I can attest to small operations growing into large operations with time, and that everyone has potential for success if given the opportunity. I want to continue to serve on our board and ensure that we see the opportunities in a thoughtful and calculated way.
