Farm Credit Mid-America is pleased to announce that Stephen Humphries is moving into the role of Regional Vice President for Agricultural Lending in northeast Kentucky. Humphries will work with Ag retail teams in the Shelbyville, Lexington, Mt. Sterling, Maysville and Somerset offices.

Humphries joined Farm Credit Mid-America five years ago as a Financial Officer in the Bowling Green office and most recently served as the Director of Retail Operations for the southwest Kentucky region.

“We are excited to see Stephen build strong relationships across the territory as he helps our teams and customers succeed together,” said Mark Barker, senior vice president for agricultural lending in Kentucky. “His experience and passion for our mission and his role in strengthening rural communities and advancing agriculture throughout the region will benefit both new and existing customers, as well as our teams.”

Born in Cadiz, Kentucky, Humphries graduated from Western Kentucky University with both a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

“Farm Credit Mid-America has a tremendous mission, and I’m excited to support our employees, serve our customers, and contribute to the growth of rural communities and agriculture across the northeast region,” said Humphries. “What makes our customers unique is their resilience, innovation, and commitment to feeding and supporting their communities, and I’m proud to partner with them through every cycle of agriculture.”

Humphries added, “We know the future of agriculture depends on developing and supporting the next generation of producers, and we’re seeing more young and beginning farmers eager to become active in the industry. That creates a tremendous opportunity for agriculture, our rural communities, and organizations like Farm Credit Mid-America to help provide the resources, guidance, and financial support needed for long-term success.”

Humphries is also engaged in his local ag community serving on the Trigg County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and Trigg County Cattlemen’s Association Board of Directors, including as President. He is a Class X graduate of the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association Leadership Program and previously served on the Warren County Agriculture Awareness Committee.
