Farms to Food Banks Program

Fighting hunger starts on the farms of our customers, where we collect produce and donate it to local food banks.

From Farm to Food Banks to Tables

Farm Credit Mid-America’s Farms to Food Banks Program advocates for agriculture and nourishes communities.

Farm Credit Mid-America’s Farms to Food Banks Program plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between agriculture and communities. Even with an abundance of food found on farms today, some families in underserved communities may not be able to justify the cost of purchasing fruits and vegetables, or fresh produce simply isn’t available in the neighborhoods where they live. By connecting surplus farm produce with food banks, we help by not only reducing food waste but also ensuring that nutritious food reaches those in need, fostering a greater appreciation for the value of agriculture.

Farms to Food Banks partners with food bank agencies to facilitate all the steps needed to get food on people’s tables, from using volunteers to harvest produce, to processing and distributing it to families in need through a network of local food banks.
